Melissa Joy Adler
August 22, 1958 – March 13, 2024
Melissa J. Adler of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024 with her daughter and husband at her side.
Melissa was born in Long Island New York. She moved to South Florida and after many years in South Florida Raising two children Megan and Jordan and meeting her husband Barry Adler. She and her husband decided in 2022 to relocate to Central Florida and settled in Leesburg to be closer to her daughter Megan. She had put up an enormous fight since 2003 dealing with her health issues and finally able to enjoy life as best she could from her battles with cancer, four times which she survived and came out stronger. She was a warrior and fought every battle with a smile on her face that could light up the room. Unfortunately, this last battle of a mysterious brain bleed she had no more fight.
Melissa is survived by her husband Barry and her daughter Megan, son in law Nick, parents George and Sheila Leibowitz, siblings Amy and Ross. At least now she will no longer be in pain as she was for the past 21 years and no more suffering from cancer treatment, but she is at peace and joining her son Jordan who passed abruptly from a car accident May 26th, 2022. She enjoyed her music, going to the beach laying by the pool, playing catch with her Golden Retriever Layla and feeding her new baby goats, Hope and Faith.
Melissa will be missed by all her loved ones.
