Kathleen Sanderson Wagner
March 4, 1950 – March 6, 2024
Kathleen Sanderson Wagner, 74, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on March 6, 2024.
Kathleen was born in North Plainfield, NJ, on March 4, 1950, to her parents, Robert and Vera Sanderson. She moved to Leesburg, FL, with the love of her life, Harry Wagner, after retiring from teacher in 2016. Their story officially started when the two married on June 5, 1971, and would spend 52 glorious years together.
Upon moving to the Royal Highlands Community, Kathleen became a part of many organizations, such as the Garden Club, Travel Club, Brothers and Sisters of Italy, and several dance groups.
Kathleen’s interest in dance started in her childhood, but didn’t blossom until she returned to dance with her adult daughter, starting with tap and expanding to ballet, lyrical, and jazz. Kathleen’s love for dance continued to grow through her retirement; first with joining a tap group, then agreeing to teach a beginners tap class and choreograph many of the group’s dances. This also brought out the desire to learn more styles of dance, such as the hula and line dancing.
In her retirement, Kathleen returned to her artistic roots, her favorite medium being colored pencils on paper. Several pieces of her work are framed and hung around her house.
Kathleen will be remembered by those who love her as a talkative and outgoing woman. She is the type of person who would make friends anywhere she went.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband Harry, two children, Christopher and Tiffany, and sister Debbie Sanderson. She is preceded in death by her son, Justin Wagner, and parents, Robert and Vera.
