Sally C. (Turner) Townsend, 84, of Eustis, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in Palm Bay, FL, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Sally was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Howard Long and Leona (Long) Laraway. She married Harry C. Turner, Jr., who predeceased her in 1966. She later married Hollis L. Townsend, Sr., who predeceased her in 2008.

She worked as a secretary for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for over 22 years. Sally’s pastimes were bowling, thrifting, quilting and crocheting. She donated many afghans and quilts to children at Camp Boggy Creek, as well as, to her church of over 50 years, Faith Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her brother, Gary Long; five children, Harry C. Turner, III, Cynthia L. Hogan, Gregory P. Turner, Karen M. Klenck, and Russell A. Turner; as well as, seven step-children, Debbie Myers, Jeff Townsend, Holly Coulter, Hollis Towsend, Jr., Ruth Platt, Lynn Starcher (predeceased), and Delta Jordan. Sally was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2727 S. Grove St., Eustis, FL 32726. A reception luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.
