It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Rogers 85, of Tavares, on December 27, 2023. He was born in Woodstock, IL and moved here in 1976 from San Antonio, Texas.
He spent 30+ years in the wholesale floral and greens business and is the past owner of a steel manufacturing business. Peter was a past president of the Central Florida Porsche Club and most recently the MG Club of Central Florida, where his love for automobiles brought joy and camaraderie to fellow enthusiasts.
He was an elder and choir member at the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis. He also offered his wealth of knowledge and experience as a member of SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives).
Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon of 64 years, his sister Susan Strand (John) of Connecticut and his loving sons, Wade Rogers (Lou) of Grand Island, Gregg Rogers (Brenda) of Umatilla, and Darryl Rogers (Sheryl) of Argyle, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Bria Hussain (Navaz), Brian Rogers (Avery) of Northlake, TX, and Jenna Nutter (Ryan) of Eustis; and great granddaughter, Stella Rogers.
A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Saturday, January 6, at First Presbyterian Church Eustis at 2pm. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis (www.fpceustis.com/giving) or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.LLS.org.
