Alice E. Weaver

Alice E. Weaver, 94, of Leesburg, Florida went home to be with her heavenly Father, husband Bill, son Al and some of her family & friends on December 29, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1929, in Central North Carolina to Alton & Leona Nash, graduated from Lafayette High School in 1947 and worked for The State of North Carolina Intangible Tax Office, Home Security Life Insurance Co., part-time with Duke University payroll office and Branch Banking & Trust Co. of Raleigh, North Carolina.

After marrying Bill Weaver who was in the United States Marine Corps, she became a stay-at-home mom that she loved so much. Being a career military family, Alice and her family moved around the great United States and met many wonderful people.

“We retired from the Marine Corps in May of 1973 from the Air Base, Beaufort, South Carolina (Bill’s last duty station); moved to Leesburg the same day and fell in love with the city and its people. We joined First Baptist Church the same year and that was the best church family and I loved everything about it; such caring, helping and loving people.”

She was very active in the Leesburg community, church and school system with her children and husband. Some of her volunteer services were in her children’s lives and activities, serving on the Citizens Adversary Board and Band Boosters. She was also a Red Cross volunteer at Leesburg Regional hospital. She helped in the fourth-grade department, First Baptist Church, Monday afternoon visitation, Joy choir, Counselor for the Pregnancy Care Center 22+ years, served on the Christian Care Center Board 3 years, Senior’s Care Center and active in her Sunday school class. She loved helping and visiting people.

She is survived by two sons, Mike (Bobbi) and Tim, one daughter Beth (Otis), daughter-in-law Julie, three grandchildren Dylana (Russell), Garrett (Brooke) and Justin. Four great-grandchildren Bryce, Bentley, Easton and Weston, brother Bryant (JoAnn), two sisters Jean and Glennie and lots of nieces and nephews. Loved all of you so very much. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Al, parents Alton & Leona Nash, sister Dot, brothers Ed, John and Watt.
