Jimmy Scott

Jimmy T. Scott, 79, of Altoona, Florida passed away in Eustis, Florida on November 30, 2023.
He was born in Newton, Alabama on May 23, 1944, to Joseph Maxwell Scott and Johnnie Myrl Scott. He served in the United States Army for two years. Jimmy spent many years working alongside his brother, father, and sometimes other relatives as they constructed homes, churches, and other commercial buildings all over the southeast. He started with the Lake County School Board in the late 80s’ and retired in 2011 as a Lead in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, either in his garden, hunting, or fishing is where he spent most of his time. “8”, as many of his friends called him, was a loyal friend, and loved his family. He was a proud member of the conservative party and an active member of the NRA, and the Central Florida Dog Hunters Association.
He is survived by his son Terry (Misty) Scott, two grandchildren, Carleigh, and Carter Scott, two sisters Brenda Davis, of Daytona Fl. and Linda (Cary) Morrison, of Jacksonville Fl. and his brother Donnie Scott also of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his parents: Max and Johnnie Scott; sister-in-law: Helen Scott; and brother-in-law: Steve Davis.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
