Ronald (Ron) Aubrey Harper, 79 yrs old, passed away on September 14th at his home in Leesburg. He was born in Macon, Georgia, in 1944 to Aubrey and Stella Harper.
Ron joined Marines, served almost 5 years in Vietnam leaving Marines as a Sergeant. He then served with Florida Highway Patrol, retired as a Corporal after 33 years.
Ron loved traveling, attending sports events and with his wife Barbara. He was a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan! Go Dawgs!
He is survived by sons Craig and David, stepdaughter Karen Doerr Dacus (Roger), stepson Kenneth (Ken) Doerr, Grandson Craig, Jr ( Kaitlin), Great Grandsons Zender, Zayden.
Pre-deceased by his loving wife, Barbara Doerr Harper; parents Aubrey and Stella.
The family will receive friends at Beyers Funeral Home on Tues., September 19th from 10am to 11am with a service at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Lone Oak Cemetery following the service with honors.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Research in loving memory of his wife, Barbara.
