When police arrived, they detained 58-year-old Frederick Charles McPherson at the scene. The restaurant had two large windows broken out as well as the glass in the front doors. Several rocks were found inside the store where the sandwich cooler glass had been shattered. When asked why he had thrown the rocks McPherson said he was thirsty.

Damage to the store was estimated to be in excess of $3,000.

After being booked at the Leesburg Police Department, McPherson was transported to the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $2,000.
