An unhappy customer of the Take 5 Oil Change on North 14th Street was arrested a warrant alleging that he broke a window to the store and spray painted parts of the interior and exterior of the building.

The suspect surrendered himself on Friday.

Leesburg officers had been dispatched to the store on May 7 where they discovered a broken window and saw spray paint cans lying on the ground. The phrase “$90 oil change” was sprayed around the building in several places.

The case was assigned to a detective who was able to obtained some photos of the suspect from store security cameras. An employee said he knew the man, 20-year-old Tyran Hepburn, who had been a classmate of his at Leesburg High School.

The employee told the detective that Hepburn had been in the store a couple of weeks before and had become upset with the $90 charge. Hepburn said in a threatening manner, “I’ll be back with my dad.” The employee also identified the car that was in the security video as the same that Hepburn had when the argument regarding the $90 charge occurred.

The detective filed an affidavit of probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant charging Hepburn with burglary of an unoccupied structure and criminal mischief over $1,000.

Hepburn surrendered at the Lake County Jail where he posted $7,000 bond and was released.
