On the morning of Monday, September 4, 2023, Peggy A. (Stoune) Baker, 92, passed away peacefully at the South Campus Care Center of Leesburg.

Born on March 16, 1931, in Tampa, Florida, she eventually moved to Leesburg, Florida, with her parents, Charlie and Amelia Stoune. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School in 1949 and pursued her degree at Lake Sumter College in 1971. Her new degree opened opportunities for her to work as a Title Clerk for several car dealership companies.

As an active member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, she was most often seen playing the marimba in the orchestra or singing in the choir. Her favorite Bible verses were Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

In lieu of flowers, Peggy requested that memorial gifts be sent to Leesburg’s Christian Care Center Inc.
