FOX News contributor Raymond Arroyo interviewed the breakfast crowd and promoted his new book Saturday morning at Wolfy’s restaurant in Leesburg.
FOX & Friends Weekend, the station’s weekend morning program, was broadcasted live from 6 to 10 a.m. as hungry diners and eager fans filled the booths in the restaurant. Some arrived as early as 4:30 a.m. to ensure the best seats in the house.
Arroyo spoke to many of those present to discuss the latest news happening in Florida. Guests were asked their opinions on everything from spring break to Gov. Ron Desantis as Arroyo made his way around the restaurant.
“I love talking to people in places like this where they feel at home,” said Arroyo. “I often find that they have fresh takes on these issues.”
Arroyo also showcased his latest book, The Unexpected Light of Thomas Alva Edison. While this is not his first book, it is the first in a series known as Turnabout Tales. Each book will focus on a moment of crisis and overcoming the obstacles that come with it. The second book in the series is set to come out around Thanksgiving.
During the breaks when FOX was not live, Arroyo spent time with the diners. Copies of his book were signed and given to everyone who asked for one, and many pictures were taken as mementos of Arroyo’s visit. Others were encouraged to attend a book signing at 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in The Villages that same day.
“In some ways, coming to The Villages is like coming home. These moments of intimacy are like family reunions,” he said.
