Ernest Mann

Ernest Mann, 93, passed away peacefully with family at his side on September 19, 2022 at his home in Leesburg, Florida.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, raised in Germany, and at the age of 18 moved back to the United States. He honorably served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Germany where he met and married Hanna Ortlieb. They celebrated 69 years together on September 19th 2022.

Ernie retired from IBM in Kingston, where he worked as an electrician and construction coordinator. He lived in the Kingston area for 50 years and enjoyed 22 more years in the friendly warmth of Florida. Ernie was a member and past president of the Kingston Maennerchor and Damenchor. He stayed active playing golf, dancing, traveling and singing in the chorus.

He is survived by his wife, Hanna, a daughter, Kathie (Joe) Colarusso, sons Ernest and Jeffrey as well as four grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia, his parents and six siblings.

Ernie’s final resting place will be the Saratoga National Cemetery in New York at a later date.
