Elmer Ray (Dickie) Thomas passed away peacefully on September 5th ,2022 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
He is survived by three children and six grandchildren and two sisters. Tony Thomas of Palm Springs CA, Alan Thomas (Deidra) Alexis (Carson Crawford), Raeann, and Blake of Leesburg, Florida. Lisa McGrath (David) John, David Jr., and Anne Marie of Ormond Beach, Florida. Two sisters Nina Mitchell of Dukedom, TN and Martha Thomas of Paris, TN and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ray and Martha Thomas, also brothers Lannie Thomas, Dale Thomas, and Mike Thomas. He was the oldest of six children.
Dickie was born August 2, 1940, in Dukedom, Tennessee and was a 1958 graduate of South Fulton High School. He graduated from the Master Mechanic Automobile school in Memphis, Tennessee. Former employee of the King of Sports Honda dealer in Martin, Tennessee. In 1980’s, he relocated to Central Florida. He was retired from the Florida Department of Education of Lake County as a Lead Mechanic. He resided in Fruitland Park, Florida since 1996. He was an avid hunter, horseman, and motorcycle enthusiast.
Services will be held on Sunday, November 6th, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in his original hometown of Weakley County Tennessee. The Memorial Service will be at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Dukedom Tennessee. The address is 7133 TN-118, Dukedom, Tennessee 38237.
