Eustis to celebrate law enforcement at May First Friday

Eustis will celebrate members of its police department on First Friday, May 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. for Law Enforcement Appreciation Month.

The evening will feature a variety of law enforcement vehicles, from police cars to the armored tactical vehicle used by the S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) team, K-9 officers and much more, with opportunities for families to interact with the officers. According to Events Coordinator Carl Saenger, there will even be a visit from a certain popular costumed canine!

First Friday events are always a special time in Eustis, with two blocks of the downtown business district closed to accommodate the dozens of food and retail vendors, along with performances and entertainment. Neon Dream will be performing on stage at Eustis Street and Orange Avenue beginning at 6 p.m., offering the audience an eclectic mix of dance tunes, classic and Southern rock, and more.

Come meet members of the city’s incredible police department and enjoy the festivities in downtown Eustis on May 3. For more information about First Friday, contact the Events Department at 352-483-5491.
