A Leesburg woman taking a child to school was arrested after a brawl with another woman.

Witnesses saw 35-year-old Santana Potts pull her red Hyundai in front of the other woman’s car, blocking her ability to drive through the intersection of Orange Avenue and North Bay Street in Eustis, according to an arrest report from the Eustis Police Department.

When Potts got out of her car, the other woman also exited her vehicle. Potts scratched the other woman who fought back.

A child got out of Potts’ vehicle and another child got out of the other woman’s vehicle. Both children tried to stop the women from fighting, but the children began to fight each other, witnesses told police. Both women got back into their cars with their children and left the scene.

A Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent saw part of the fight and called 911.

The agent said she was following Potts’ car, which eventually reached Eustis Heights Elementary School where the Eustis officer met Potts. Officers interviewed the FDLE agent, Potts, and the other woman who had sought medical treatment as well as a man who had seen the entire episode.

Potts was arrested on charges of  child neglect and affray. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
