A sharp-eyed neighbor saw a shirtless man trying to break into a neighbor’s backyard on the evening of St. Patrick’s Day.

The woman yelled at the man asking the man for his name. The man replied that he “was just looking for a place to stay and was at the wrong house,” according to the arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The woman called 911 and the Leesburg police responded to the High Street area. While waiting for the police the neighbor lady followed the man, later identified as 39-year-old Chad Eric Collins as he went to another house and attempted to break into a car. She also called the neighbors who owned the shed so they could meet with the police. The shed owners estimated the damage at $200.

Collins was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $500.
