A Leesburg man was seriously injured in a head-on crash that claimed the life of a Deland woman.
The 26-year-old Leesburg man had been driving a sport utility vehicle at 7:20 a.m. Sunday in Volusia County when he traveled into the opposite lane and struck another SUV which was driven by a 47-year-old Deland woman, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The Leesburg man and a 26-year-old Deland woman who was traveling with him were transported to Halifax Medical Center. She was also seriously injured.
The accident remains under investigation. FHP is looking for witnesses to the crash.
