Mary C. Monacelli of Leesburg, Florida, left this earth suddenly and peacefully on Sunday morning December 27, 2020, just 2 days after celebrating her 96th Christmas. Beloved wife of 69 years to Alfred Monacelli, mother of Fred (Kathy) Monacelli, and Grandmother of Lauren (Alex) Tovar.
Mary was born in 1925 in New York City, and lived there and in south Florida until moving to Leesburg in 2008. The last survivor of her 3 other siblings, she will always be remembered as (Aunt Mae) to her 16 nieces and nephews.
A devout and active parishioner of her church (St. Paul’s Catholic) and a vibrant member of her community (The Plantation of Leesburg), this year of quarantine and isolation was particularly difficult.
For all who knew and loved Mary, may the joy of her memory soon replace the grief of her loss.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests any memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Paul Catholic Church 1330 Sunshine Ave., Leesburg, FL 34748.
