Patricia Mead

Patricia Anne Mead, 90 of Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

She was born on December 23, 1930 in Erie, PA to the late Charles and Pearl Rundstrom. Patricia and her husband Robert moved from PA to FL over 40 years ago. They lived in Stuart, Miami, and then finally settled in Leesburg. Patricia met Robert while she was in nursing school and he was in Medical school. They married on August 16, 1952 in Erie, PA shortly after graduating. Patricia was a surgical nurse in Philadelphia and assisted in the first heart transplant performed in the United States.

She had a strong Christian foundation and faith in the Lord. She enjoyed Cooking, one of her most memorable meals was cabbage rolls. She also enjoyed watching her grandsons play tennis. Patricia was a classy woman who was sensitive, had a big heart and loved her family deeply.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years: Robert Mead and daughter-in-law: Pat Sumner Mead. She is survived by her son: Bill Mead, of Eustis, FL; Daughter: Cindy (Fritz) Hawkins, of Leesburg, FL; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:00PM where Patricia will be laid to rest with her late husband Robert Mead.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on the tribute wall.
