Leesburg Police searching for 81-year-old man after Silver Alert issued

James Schufeldt has been safely recovered in Martin County.

Leesburg Police officers are searching for a local 81-year-resident who has gone missing.

Leesburg Police believe 81-year-old James Schufeldt may be traveling south in a maroon 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo with Florida license tag PKMX54.

A Silver Alert has been issued for James Schufeldt, who was last seen in the area of the 10000 block of U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg. He is white, 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighs 250 pounds, police say.

Schufeldt was last seen Monday wearing a dark button-down shirt, beige shorts and slippers. He has scars on both of his arms and was possibly wearing glasses. Police believe he may be traveling south in a maroon 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo with Florida license tag PKMX54.
