Leesburg Fire Rescue Engine 62 was recently recognized as one of the busiest engine companies in Florida and the United States, according to a newly released survey.
The annual run survey, which is published by Firehouse Magazine, ranks the busiest engines by the number of runs (calls) they receive and respond to in a given period.
At 2,967 runs, Leesburg Engine 62 ranked as the 104th busiest Engine Company in the nation and the 15th busiest in Florida, just behind Lauderdale (Florida) and Asheville, N.C.
Other Florida counties and municipalities that made the national list include Orange County, Pasco County, Polk County, Hillsborough County, Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale.
