Hazel Haynes Smarr Molnar, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2024, in Altoona, Florida. She was the wife of George Eugene Molnar. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary together.

Hazel was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, on September 8, 1931. She was the daughter of Hazel Haynes Smarr and Albert Roger Smarr. She had a younger sister, Ann Smarr Strommen. She graduated from Zion High School in 1949 and from the University of South Carolina in 1953 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught several decades, mostly kindergarten, in Mt. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, located at 117 South Center Street, Eustis, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with a visitation at 10:30 am and a service at 11:00 am, followed by a small reception.

Memorial donations – in lieu of flowers – may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis in Hazel’s name.
