Lauren Louise Boyd Colas, 41 of Eustis, affectionately called “Lulu”, was called home on Friday, March 1, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Lu was a Godly woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, coach, and friend. Born in Leesburg, she was a 2001 graduate of Mount Dora Christian Academy (formerly known as Christian Home and Bible School (CH&BS) in Mount Dora, Florida, where she earned many honors: All-State in Volleyball, Basketball and Softball, Miss CH&BS, and Homecoming Queen. She earned a scholarship to play basketball at Seminole State College in Lake Mary, Florida before she transferred to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida and majored in Social Work. Her four children were loved unconditionally, and are her greatest achievements.

At the time of her passing, Lauren was a physical education teacher at Eustis Heights Elementary and coached a 12U travel softball team called “Florida Storm”. She had also taught at Treadway Elementary in Leesburg.

Lauren is predeceased by her loving father, Monty Boyd, and her grandparents, Orvel and Mildred Boyd, all of Eustis, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Stive; children Skylar, Jaylen, Kylee, and Lennox; mother, Adrian Boyd-Bradley; step-father Dr. Barry Bradley; brother, Chad; step-sisters, Heather Bradley, Amity Bittinger, and Kirby Bradford. She has many special aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins who had a special place in her heart.

The family would like to thank Eustis Heights Elementary faculty and staff for the outpouring of love and support. In addition, thank you to the outstanding doctors and nursing staff at AdventHealth Waterman for their compassion and love in caring for Lu.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, Umatilla on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TeamColas Scholarship Fund at Insight Financial or to the charity of your choice in Lauren’s name.
