A Leesburg teen was arrested during a fight at Leesburg High School in which she threw a trashcan and shattered a windshield.
Police responded to 1400 Yellow Jacket Way near Leesburg High School regarding a large group of juveniles fighting around 2:28 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.Â
Several officers tried to stop the juveniles from battering each other, one of which was later identified as 18-year-old Alaysha Price. She picked up a large plastic trash can and threw it into the windshield of a blue Mazda 3, causing it to shatter. The cost of damage to the vehicle was about $500, the report said.Â
Price was subsequently detained and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle, or the victim, expressed intent to prosecute, the report said.Â
Price was charged with criminal mischief (over $200 under $1,000) and transported to the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $1,000.
