Deputies responded to a suspicious noise coming from outside a Leesburg residence, located at 34330 Pierce Ave., around 5 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the two deputies came in contact with 39-year-old Dianna Lynn West. She claimed to hear voices inside of her garage and outside of her house. She also mentioned that she had taken her medication earlier and had been consuming beer, the report said.

One of the deputies canvassed the outside of the residence and the inside of the garage. There was no one else present besides her mother, the report said.

West still stated that she did not feel safe at her house, and she would like to go to jail for the drugs she had on her person. The deputies explained that they did not come to her residence for drugs. Once the scene was clear, both deputies left the residence and walked back to their patrol car, the report said.

West’s mother then walked out to the patrol car and handed the deputies a clear glass smoking device with a burnt crystal-like residue. This was believed to be used for smoking narcotics. West came to the front door, and the deputies approached her with the pipe in hand, the report said.

The deputies asked West if she knew what the pipe was, and she stated it was hers before asking if she could go to jail now. She advised that she had more narcotics inside the residence and proceeded to voluntarily retrieve them while the deputies waited outside, the report said.

When West returned to the front door, she had a clear plastic baggie with white crystal-like residue. She handed the baggie over to the deputies, which they later tested for methamphetamine. She admitted to smoking or ingesting the substance in the pipe, as well, the report said.

West was then arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. She was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $3,000.

She has been arrested in the past for making frivolous calls to 911, one of the latest instances being in December.
