Ray Mitchell, 89, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023. Raymond was born on September 22, 1934, in Madison, WI, to his loving parents; Ervin and Jeannette (Stephenson) Mitchell.
He was a Veteran of the Unites States Marine Corps for four years and enjoyed his work as an accountant in multiple industries. After his retirement in 1999, Ray and his wife Bette moved from Hazel Crest, IL to their home in Florida.
Ray was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and loved all sports, playing bridge, Scrabble and doing puzzles. He will be missed dearly by his loving family.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Bette, his children; Lisa A. Heaven and her husband Linton of Australia, Craig A. Mitchell and his wife Michelle of IL, Matthew J. Mitchell and his wife Jennifer of NH, and Mark A. Mitchell and his wife Jennifer of IL, as well as a brother, Eugene S. Mitchell and seven precious grandchildren: Kelly, Kyle, Johnna, Nathan, Katherine, Charles, and Elinor.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Reynold and Donald.
