Patsy Wells Tatum

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Wells Tatum beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who departed this life on October 3, 2023. She left us surrounded by love and cherished memories, leaving an undeniable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was born on November 30, 1934 in Mt. Quincy, North Carolina to George Edward & Mary Etta York Wells. In 1956, Patsy married William “Bill” Tatum Jr. & moved to Florida; they moved to Astor in the early sixties.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Astor, the Red Hatter club, the ACA & Supported Kids to Camp, the Soroptimist International and past president of the Astor Historical Society. She always welcomed friends, neighbors and kids of all ages to her home and later in life it led her to open her home as the Little Creek Ranch Bed & Breakfast where she made connections with many new friends; many of whom have remained dear friends to this day.

Throughout her life, she remained a source of love, compassion and unwavering support to her family & friends. Her legacy is not one of just biological ties but many deep connections she forged through her generous heart & giving spirit.

Mom was a woman of many talents and passions. She was a dedicated homemaker, pouring her love and creativity into every meal she prepared and every corner of her home. Her cooking was legendary & she shared those skills with those lucky enough to taste her dishes. Her home was a haven of comfort & hospitality, where guests were always welcome with open arms.
