Ann Smith Rogers, 92, a resident of Leesburg Florida passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 with family at her side. Elizabeth Ann Smith was born June 20, 1931 in Leesburg Florida to Alfred William Smith, Jr. and Margaret Worley Smith. She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1949 and attended Stetson University.

Ann was a very talented seamstress and quilter. She lovingly made and donated hundreds of cloth children’s books and comfort dolls to Head Start children and First Responders. For her friends and family, she made colorful and unusual quilts, dresses and scarves. She was always ready to give her best to everyone she met and was admired for her humor, warmth and hospitality.

Ann was a homemaker and lifelong business owner specializing in heirloom crystal and china. She received frequent shipments of antiques from the French countryside and also enjoyed shopping at local estate sales. She often played the piano for family and friends to enjoy and took many summer vacations in Vermont and Ormond Beach. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was one of her greatest pleasures and she attended many birthday parties and special events. Ann delighted her family with many stories about childhood adventures in Johnson City, Tennessee with her grandparents and cousins. She also enjoyed many years of monthly celebrations with her loyal high school friends, the “Birthday Girls”.

Ann is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Jackson of Leesburg, Patti Jackson Roe of Covington, LA, and Judy Jackson Perreault (Dan) of Lake Mary, FL and Vermont; six grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Roe of Covington, LA, Sammy Roe of Hamilton, GA, Daniel Roe of Ormond Beach, Anna Jackson of Leesburg, Aaron Loesch of Oviedo, and Phil Perreault of Maitland and nine great-grandchildren.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Charles Benjamin Rogers, her parents Alfred and Margaret Smith, her two sisters, Linda Spradlin and Sandra Smith, and infant brother Alfred Worley Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida with Pastor Mario Bolivar of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis officiating.
