A Eustis woman with four suspended license convictions gave a false name and wrong SSN to law enforcement when she was pulled over for speeding last week.
A Lake County sheriff’s deputy clocked Kadiya Latrice Houston driving her black Dodge Charger 63 mph in a 40-mph zone near Forest Drive at around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22. A traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of Dollar General, 10650 C.R. 44, according to the sheriff’s office arrest report.
When the deputy asked for her driver’s license, Houston said she didn’t have it. She identified herself as “Kayanna Raleigh” and provided a false date of birth. This information yielded no results when searched, the report said.
When asked again for her information, Houston provided the last name “Cunningham.” The identity of that person did not match Houston. The deputy asked a third time for her correct information, and Houston provided a social security number that was used to positively identify her, according to the report.
A check of Houston’s driving history revealed her license was suspended in July 2023 with notice provided in June. She has four prior convictions for driving while her license was suspended, the report said.
The deputy asked Houston to step away from her vehicle, and she complied. She handed him two papers, one with information regarding “Kayanna Cunningham” and another with two different social security numbers. She said she commonly recalls the different numbers and gets them confused, according to the report.
Once Houston was detained, the deputy entered her vehicle and noticed a swisher sweet wrapper sitting in the driver’s seat. Inside the wrapper was a green leafy substance the deputy knew to be marijuana. This was collected before the vehicle was taken away, the report said.
Houston was charged with giving a false name to a law enforcement officer and driving while license is suspended or revoked. She was taken to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
