A Leesburg man known for trespassing was arrested for it again after harassing customers at Wawa.
Police responded to Wawa, located at 1400 West North Boulevard, in reference to 41-year-old Leroy Rogers harassing customers at about 12:41 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officer met Rogers sitting at a picnic table near the entrance of the store. He said he was previously trespassed from the business but returned anyway because it was open 24 hours and well lit, the report said.
The officer then entered the store and spoke with a Wawa employee who said that Rogers had been previously trespassed but often frequents the business and harasses customers by asking them for money, according to the report.
A computer records check confirmed Rogers was trespassed from Wawa in June 2023, the report said. He was also arrested for trespassing at a McDonald’s in Leesburg about a week earlier. Before that, he was arrested in March 2017 for attacking a 65-year-old woman in Lady Lake.
Rogers was subsequently arrested and charged with trespass after warning. He was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
