John Cyrus Ingersoll

John Cyrus Ingersoll of Sorrento Florida passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares Florida on June 12. 2023.

He was born on May 14, 1933, in Peekskill, New York to Cyrus J. and Myrtle Ingersoll. He is preceded in death of his father, mother and brothers Victor Ingersoll and Russell Ingersoll. John was proud of being an army veteran. He taught for 37 years in the Euclid City Schools in Ohio as a middle school history teacher. He relocated to Florida in 1997. He enjoyed Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays baseball along with professional football and basketball. He also enjoyed working on his garden and yard. He loved dogs and cats and had many pets over his 90 years.

John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joanne H. Ingersoll of Sorrento, Florida, his son John David Ingersoll of South Euclid, Ohio and his daughter Dr. Debra A. Ingersoll of Sorrento Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lillian Ingersoll of South Euclid, Andrea Hickling of Deland, and John Alex Ingersoll of Sorrento Florida.
