An 18-year-old Lady Lake woman was charged with criminal mischief and burglary after breaking windows with bricks following a verbal altercation with her boyfriend.

An officer responded around 6:34 a.m. Saturday to a residence on Center Street and observed two broken windows at the home before meeting with Cheala Sidney Aven Bramblett. She was extremely irate and agitated when the officer began speaking with her, according to the arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Bramblett told the officer she destroyed various things on the property and that she and the victim, her boyfriend, had been in a verbal altercation. She started to yell at other members of the residence, causing the officer to detain her in hand restraints, the report said.

The officer then spoke to a resident that stated Bramblett did not reside there but had entered the area and started throwing objects through closed windows. The victim arrived later and confirmed he and Bramblett had been in a verbal altercation at about 3 a.m., according to the report.

The victim said Bramblett left the residence and returned at about 5:30 a.m., only to bang on the door and start throwing bricks and other items at the home. She also damaged the windows and the tailgate of the victim’s red Dodge pickup truck. At that point, the victim contacted law enforcement, the report said.

The officer was made aware of the damage to the truck, and he observed a fresh scuff mark on the tailgate. This was later estimated to cost about $1,600 to repair, the report said.

At the end of the investigation, Bramblett was arrested on charges of criminal mischief (over $1,000) and burglary of an occupied dwelling (unarmed). She was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $17,000.
