Edward D. Bass II

Edward D. Bass II, 50, of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born on July 23rd, 1972, to Edward and Gale Bass in Eustis, Florida. After he graduated from Eustis High School, Edward went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Accounting at The University of Florida. After graduating college, he became a certified public accountant.

Edward spent most of his career working at the City of Apopka. He served as the Finance Director, then later became the City Administrator. Edward loved the great city of Apopka and he worked hard keeping citizens safe and happy.

Edward enjoyed attending football games at the University of Florida Gators. He was also an avid fan of Nascar. He is best known for helping others and being a friend to all. He loved country music and traveling our great nation.

Edward was predeceased by his beautiful mother, Gale Bass, who died on May 20, 2008. Edward is survived by his father, Ed Bass, his sister, Ginger Shivers, his brother-in-law, Joe Shivers and his nephews, Andrew and Matthew Shivers.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 16th from 5 to 7 pm at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL. The funeral will be at The First Presbyterian Church of Apopka, located at 500 S. Highland Avenue, Apopka, FL., 32703 on Saturday, June 17th at 10 am.
