Andrew “Andy” Howard Sheffield, 89, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023. Andy was born in Marianna, FL, on October 10, 1933 to Andrew Harvey and Rossie (Mashburn) Sheffield.
Andy was a founding member of Hiland Park Baptist Church, and later, a charter member of Pennbrooke Community Church. He served in the United States Army for 2 years and was in the reserve for another 14 years. He worked in insurance sales for over 40 years and served as President of the Miami Association of Life Underwriters from 1991-1992. He retired in 2000.
Andy was also a Master Mason with the Masonic Order for over 60 years as well as an active member of the Billiard Club. He was gifted with a beautiful bass voice and loved singing in the community chorus and church choir. He loved his family dearly and will be missed and remembered fondly by many.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Judy (Kirsch) Sheffield, as well as two sons; Michael David Sheffield and his wife Melissa of Leesburg, FL, and Mark Andrew Sheffield and his wife Leslie of Indian Land, SC. As well as two brothers; Alvin Carl Sheffield and Edward Truman Sheffield, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Alton Glen Sheffield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Andy’s loving memory to Pennbrooke Community Church.
