Lawrence Eugene Nesmith, age 86, of Grand Island, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
He was born on September 1, 1936 in Chicago, IL. He moved to Florida in 2005 from North Carolina. He was a retired Crime Analyst and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a member of the Grand Island Baptist Church. He loved working with his hands and was well known for it.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joann Nesmith of Grand Island, FL; daughters, Karen Nawmiec of IL, Christine Nesmith of IL; step-son, Ricky Gene Whitaker of NC; sister, Carol Walk of IL; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Island Baptist Church, please check back for details. Inurnment will take place at Lakeside Memory Gardens with Military Honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering in care of Grand Island Baptist Church.
