A Lake County woman was killed in a crash which saw the driver of the car in which she was riding transported from the scene by helicopter.
The 40-year-old Sorrento woman was riding in 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 41-year-old Eustis man at 5:38 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Hwy. 17 in Volusia County, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Their car rear-ended a pickup driven by a 22-year-old Jacksonville man. He and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
The Sorrento woman was transported to AdventHealth Deland where she was pronounced dead. The Eustis man was airlifted to Halifax Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
