Oliver Hilbish

Oliver “Lee” Hilbish, 79, of Leesburg, passed away on July 31, 2023. He was born to Regina Hammond Hilbish and Harry Paul Hilbish in Sterling, Illinois.

Lee first moved to Leesburg in 1958 when his parents built Leesburg Bowling Lanes, the family then moved to Eustis when they built Eustis Bowling Lanes. He graduated from Howey Academy and was a Honorary Member of the class of 1962 of Eustis High School. He attended Lake Sumter Community College and worked as a electrician. In 2000, after retirement, he and his wife returned to Leesburg. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Leesburg.

Lee was predeceased by his parents. He was also predeceased by his infant son, John Paul Hilbish in 1987.

Lee is survived by his wife, Carol Elizabeth Barden Hilbish, they were married for 53 years. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur (Carol Gill) Hilbish of Eustis and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, including, Tracey Hilbish Lichtinger (David) of Mount Dora, Lory Hilbish Baxley (James) of Eustis, James Barden Allen (Deb) of Geneseo, New York, Andrew Allen of Leesburg and Patrick Allen of Asheville, North Carolina.

Graveside services will be held in Lone Oak Cemetery Leesburg at 11AM on Monday, February 6th with Rev. Fr. Bill Boyer officiating.
