A Summerfield man landed in jail after he was thrown out of the Walmart in Leesburg after harassing other customers.

Frank Joseph Bush, 35, was arrested early Tuesday evening at the Walmart store on Citrus Boulevard in Leesburg. A Leesburg police officer was dispatched to the store after a suspicious person complaint was received. A Walmart manager told dispatch that a white male wearing a black shirt and jeans was in the self-checkout area harassing customers. The officer made contact with Bush in the self check-out area of the store.

Bush told the officer that he wanted to be transported to the Lifestream mental health/drug treatment facility. The officer found that Bush did not meet the criteria to be transported. The store management informed the officer that they wanted Bush trespassed from the store. The officer accompanied Bush out of the store to his patrol car where he issued a trespass noticed and told Bush to leave the Walmart property.

As Bush was leaving, he turned and immediately ran back into Walmart. The officer pursued Bush and apprehended him inside the store. Bush was booked at the Leesburg Police Station for trespass after notice and was taken to the Lake County Jail.

Bush entered a guilty plea at his first appearance on Thursday and was sentenced to 45 days in the Lake County Jail with credit for two days time served. Bush has an extensive criminal record including two felony convictions and multiple misdemeanor arrests.
