Marcia S. Sears, 95, of Mount Dora, FL died on Sunday night, October 16th. Her four adult children had been there together, with her, during the day. She was most recently residing at Certus Premier Memory Care Living in Mount Dora, FL.

She was born, Marcia Helen Sector August 11th, 1927 in Albany, New York, the daughter of John Charles and Helen Kirkwood Sector. She graduated from Albany High School and attended and graduated secretarial school and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper. She married George “Bud” Sears on October 2nd 1948 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Albany, NY. Marcia was a mother of four children and homemaker. She worked at the Irvington, NY public library for several years before moving to Florida with her family. She and her husband resided in Tampa for more than 30 years. They were both dedicated and active members of St. Clements Episcopal church in Tampa, where she worked as a bookkeeper for more than seven years. She was dedicated to her immediate and extended family and loved the holidays with family, especially her grandchildren. Prior to living at Certus she resided at Bridgewater Assisted Living Center in Mount Dora since 2011 where she moved with her husband, who passed away several months later.

She was the beloved wife of the late George “Bud” Sears who passed away in 2012; She is survived by her four children; Lisa, Mark, Luke and Andrew; her eight grandchildren; Sarah, Matthew, Jake, Eric, Nicole, Jordan, Taylor and Mark; her two great-grandchildren; Logan and Hunter; and her two daughters-in-law; Janie and Ysaura.

A service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Eustis, FL at 9am October 25th, 2022. A committal service will be held at Florida National Cemetery, where her husband George is buried, at 1pm the same day.
