A Lake County sheriff’s detective tracked down a Leesburg teen suspected of driving a getaway vehicle used in a gunfight in January.
Cailobe Anthony Turner, 18, was arrested late Sunday night on a warrant which alleged that Turner drove 19-year-old Dylan Scott Eckerdt to a residence on Laralack Avenue.
In the January incident, Eckerdt got out of the truck and yelled that he wanted a resident of one of the houses to come out and fight him. Two of the occupants of the mobile home looked out at Eckerdt, saw that he had a pistol and armed themselves.
A neighbor approached Eckerdt and began to struggle with him. When the neighbor realized that Eckerdt had a gun, he stopped fighting and ran for his life. Eckerdt fired three rounds at the fleeing neighbor, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in support of the arrest warrant .
The two people in the mobile home opened fire on Eckerdt, who jumped in the truck and fled the area.
Turner was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $10,000 bond.
