Bettye Jean Farris passed away July 27. She was born in Vienna, GA on September 17, 1936 to her late parents, Mr. Robert Barnes Jr and Mrs. Lucille Sipp.

Bettye was a resident of Leesburg, FL for many years and a dedicated employee at Dabney Elementary School. She was a member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she was a very devoted usher.

Bettye is preceded in death by her loving husband, Isaac Farris Jr; her son, Larry E Farris; three brothers, Melvin Barnes Sr, Bobby Ewing Sr and James E Ewing Sr; three sisters, Barthenia L. Chambers, Beatrice Thorpe and Lizzie M Spence.

Bettye is survived by her two daughters , Linda B. Pitts and Delphine Wallace (David) from Perry, GA and Jacqueline Farris Lewis from Brockton, AL; daughter in-law, Rosene Farris from Ft Lauderdale, FL; her loving sister, Mary F. Gaines from New Haven, CT; two god sisters, Betty Bright and Louise Byrd from Orlando, FL; her loving brother, Robert Barnes III (Stephanie) from Perry, GA; her devoted God son, Anthony Griggs from Las Vegas; two sister in-laws, Scarlett Ewing from New Haven, CT and Ruby Ewing from Ocala, FL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as countless friends and last but not less her devoted caregiver Mrs. Pamela Callaway of Leesburg, FL.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at Zion Hope Baptist Church, 810 McCormack St. in Leesburg. Burial will be in Hillcreat Memorial Gardens in Leesburg.
