A 56-year-old Leesburg man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman after becoming angry over a past relationship of hers.
Jeffrey M. Fairbank was arrested shortly after noon Wednesday at his mobile home on County Road 33. He was charged with sexual battery and simple battery in connection with the July 4 incident. The relationship between Fairbank and the victim was redacted from the arrest warrant.
The victim went to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on July 7 and told a deputy she was spending the Fourth of July with Fairbank when he became upset with her about a past relationship. She said he tried to start an argument with her, calling her derogatory names and yelling that he was going to treat her like a “whore” and have sex with her whenever he wants to, according to the warrant.
The victim said she want to bed to avoid a confrontation, but Fairbank came into the bedroom yelling he was going to “make her pay for cheating on me. You’re going to have sex with me.” She said she is afraid of Fairbank, who abused her twice before, so she just stayed there and cried. The victim said Fairbank continued to berate her, saying he would do whatever he wanted to her – “anal and everything” – any time he wanted to, the warrant said.
The victim said Fairbank vaginally penetrated her with his penis and ejaculated without her consent. She said he tried to penetrate her anally, also without her consent. The victim said after sexually battering her, Fairbank kicked her in her right hip/buttocks area, leaving a large mark that turned into a bruise that was black and blue and about 8 to 10 inches long at the time of the sexual assault exam conducted at The Haven, according to the warrant.
The victim obtained an injunction for protection against Fairbank on the same day she reported the incident, the warrant said.
Fairbanks spent most of Wednesday afternoon in the Lake County Jail before posting $11,000 bond. He’ll answer to the charges in Lake County Court on Aug. 22.
