A woman found passed out in her car at Palm Plaza shopping center was arrested by Leesburg police.

Officers had been dispatched to the shopping center early May 19 when citizens reported that a woman, later identified as 42-year-old Jamie Alycia Curtis, had passed out in a silver SUV.

When the officers saw Curtis she was  found slumped over the steering wheel. She appeared to be sweating profusely with nasal mucus running from her nostrils, according to the arrest report. She was incoherent and could not answer basic questions asked by the officers. The police called EMS to evaluate her condition. The officers retrieved a small Aleve bottle from her right hand which they opened to provide information to the EMS personnel when they arrived on the scene. The bottle contained several Alprazolam pills as well as a white rock like substance which field tested as cocaine.

When Curtis exited the vehicle she was swaying back and forth . She could not maintain her balance nor could she provide a driver’s license. A records check revealed that her license had been suspended or revoked six times and that she had two previous DUI convictions. After being medically cleared she was taken to the Lake County Jail where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a legend drug without a prescription, and driving with license revoked with three prior convictions. Bond was set at $5,000.
