A homeless man was arrested late Sunday night after a Leesburg homeowner called law enforcement about a disturbance.
The neighbor heard a man shouting for help from the woods located south of his home on Crosby Street.
When a Leesburg police officer arrived on the scene he saw a man, later identified as 41-year-old Joshua Eric Leasure, and a woman who were in the street near the neighbor’s house. The officer spoke to the woman who told the officer that she and Leasure had been together for the last four years and that they live in the woods on Crosby Street. She said that they had been arguing, but that no physical contact had occurred. The officer saw no marks on the woman or any evidence that she had been struck, according to the arrest report.
Leasure also told the officer that they had not touched each other as they were loudly arguing. The officer spoke to the neighbor who said he heard Leasure call the woman a “bitch” and saw him shove the woman.
The officer placed Leasure under arrest. After processing at the Leesburg Police Department Leasure was booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000.
