The mother of a 25-year-old Leesburg woman was summoned to retrieve her daughter’s car after she was caught driving after a drunk driving conviction.
Cherish Christian Hope Andrews, 25, who lives at 33139 Melrose Ave., was driving Tuesday afternoon on County Road 473 when she was pulled over by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy. The deputy believed Andrews had been driving too fast in the rainy conditions. The deputy ran the license plate of Andrews’ vehicle and discovered her license had been revoked in January and she was placed on 12 months’ probation in a drunk driving case. At the time of that arrest, Andrews provided breath samples that registered .233 and .229 blood alcohol content.
The deputy allowed Andrews to contact her mother to pick up the car before taking her to the Lake County Jail where she was booked for the offense of driving while license revoked for DUI and violating her probation. No bond was set on the probation violation.
