A Leesburg woman has been arrested after failing to show up for a drug evaluation that was part of her probation.
Denise Lynn Young, 40, had been convicted of possession of methamphetamine and possession of tetrahydrocannabinol as a result of a traffic stop which occurred on March 29, 2021. Young had been driving a vehicle with an expired license plate when she was stopped by a Eustis police officer. After a K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating that it contained drugs and an admission the drugs belonged to her, she was taken into custody.
She was placed on probation July 26, 2021. Young was drug tested in November by her probation officer and the urine test showed she had ingested methamphetamine. After that test she was ordered to undergo drug/alcohol evaluation at Lifestreams on Jan. 10. Young failed to attend the evaluation and a warrant for her arrest was issued.
She was booked without bond Friday at the Lake County Jail.
