A 15-year-old Leesburg High School student was arrested after an alleged sexual encounter with a fellow student with whom he claimed to have a “friends with benefits” arrangement.
A detective met Jan. 13 with the juvenile victim at the high school. She told the detective that she had left the campus with the boy in October or November before classes met in the morning. She said that they went to a nearby wooded area. She was upset and according to the Leesburg arrest report “did not want to go to intervention so she asked the boy who she knows from school, to walk off campus with her.” They went to a wooded area to the east of the school and sat on and abandoned couch. She told the officer that they talked for a while and that she was listening to music when he started to kiss her neck and worked his way toward her pelvic area over her clothing.
She said she told the boy to stop, but he pulled her pants off and started kissing her vagina and touching her. He then got up and sat on a nearby chair and unbuttoned his pants and forced her to perform oral sex on him until he ejaculated. She then said they both got up and walked back to the school. When asked why she had not reported the incident she told the detective “she was scared she would get in trouble with her parents.”
When the detective interviewed the boy, the detective was told that the 15-year-old and the victim were “friends with benefits” and that the sexual encounter was consensual. He said that shortly before the incident he had talked with the girl on the phone and they had agreed to exchange sexual favors. He then admitted that when she was giving him oral sex she got nervous and quit. The victim denied ever agreeing to a “friends with benefits” relationship and said she barely knew him.
Police officers met Wednesday with caseworkers from the Florida Department of Children and Families at the boy’s house where he was again questioned. The boy admitted that the girl told him to stop but he kept his hand on the back of her head to prevent her from stopping until he had completed the act. The boy was placed in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice for the offense of sexual battery on a victim older than 12 and offender under 18.
