More than 500 Lake Technical College graduates ready to step into critical positions

Even in the midst of a pandemic, Lake Technical College continues to train students for essential jobs in Lake County and Central Florida.

The school celebrated 532 students who have graduated with career and technical certificates in 2021 and an additional 56 graduates who have received their State of Florida high school diplomas.

Lake Tech ranks third in the state for the most industry certifications earned by technical college students, with an impressive 347 advanced certifications earned.

These new graduates are able to fill critical positions such as firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers, patient care technicians, practical nurses, manufacturers and diesel technicians.

“Lake Technical College provides real-world, hands-on training to prepare students for immediate employment or to articulate their career certificate to college credit and build upon their skills. During the pandemic, our student’s passion to succeed has been relentless and they are not only prepared to work, but they have also gained the vital critical thinking skills needed to work in a crisis,” said DeAnna Thomas, executive director at Lake Technical College.

Lake Technical College offers 32 career education programs.
