An unlicensed teen driving a stolen car was arrested after a daylong search for the missing vehicle.

Leesburg police received a bulletin Tuesday from the Lady Lake Police Department to be on the lookout for a stolen silver Nissan Juke. A Leesburg officer spotted the stolen car early that afternoon, but it sped away before he could stop it. The Leesburg officer had a clear view of the driver and identified her as 19-year-old Precious Emerald Shanae Dean with whom the officer has had previous encounters. Dean had been arrested earlier this year in connection with another stolen vehicle.

Late that afternoon, Dean was seen by the police getting out of the stolen car which was parked at the the Carver Heights grocery store on Beecher Street. Dean began to run away when she saw the officers, but was apprehended behind the store and taken into custody.

Dean was charged with fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer, operating a motor vehicle without a license, grand theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest without violence. She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $8,500 bond.
