Florida reported more than 3,300 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday as the death toll from the virus continued to climb across the Sunshine State.
All told, Florida is reporting 2,289,522 COVID-19 cases. Of those, 2,246,756 are residents. A total of 85,525 COVID-19 cases have been reported in long-term care centers and 32,658 in correctional facilities. Across the state, there have been 36,776 deaths and 93,056 people have been hospitalized.
Locally, Lake County is reporting 30,241 COVID-19 cases. There have been 641 deaths and 1,556 people have been hospitalized. A total of 173,241 people have been vaccinated, with 143,902 receiving both doses.
Leesburg is reporting 4,523 cases. Others have been identified in Clermont (8,107), Eustis (2,649), Mount Dora (178), Groveland (2,091), Tavares (2,065), Lady Lake (1,737), Minneola (949), Sorrento (883), Fruitland Park (857), Umatilla (784), Mascotte (624), Grand Island (383), Montverde (370), Astatula (227), Howey-in-the-Hills (226), Altoona (206), The Villages (188), Paisley (169), Astor (116), Yalaha (87), Okahumpka (58), Mount Plymouth (13) and Ferndale (9).
